Serbian Society of Clinical Microbiology is a permanent non-governmental, voluntary, professional and non-profit association, established with the aim of accomplishing objectives in the area of development, support and advancement in the field of clinical microbiology.

The Society is established with the aim of accomplishing the following objectives:
1. Contribution to the development and advancement in the field of clinical microbiology
2. Affirmation of an interdisciplinary approach in the field of clinical microbiology
3. Facilitation of both national and international exchange of practices and experiences in the field of clinical microbiology
4. Organisation of professional meetings, symposia, congresses and seminars
5. Organisation of lectures and visits by international guest speakers
6. Member participation in professional bodies governing operations of medical departments involved in clinical microbiology
7. Education of new professionals interested in the field of clinical microbiology
8. Continuous development in the field and promotion of professional exchanges
9. Participation in scientific projects
10. Establishment of national consensus programmes in the field of clinical microbiology
11. Setting up an academic journal and other publications in the field of clinical microbiology and related disciplines
12. Creation of the Society’s website
13. Analysis of organisational issues in the field of clinical microbiology
14. All the abovementioned objectives and the means of their fulfilment are realised in cooperation with relevant institutions.
